Privacy Policy

SkinSpectrum is an independent tool for discovering Counter-Strike 2 skins by color and building visually consistent inventories. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Who we are
SkinSpectrum ("we", "us", the "Service") is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Counter-Strike and related assets are the property of their respective owners. This policy applies to the SkinSpectrum website and its features.
Browsing without an account
You can explore skins, filter by color, view skin details, browse public inventories, and start building a loadout without creating an account. When you use the builder without signing in, your draft inventory is stored locally in your browser so it survives a refresh or accidental navigation. This draft never leaves your device until you choose to sign in and save it.
Data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the Service:
- Account data — when you sign up, we store your email address, a username, an optional avatar, and a securely hashed password. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
- Discord sign-in — if you sign in with Discord, we receive your Discord account identifier and basic profile information to create and link your account.
- Steam connection (optional) — if you connect a Steam account, we store your public SteamID, profile URL, display name, and avatar. We use Steam OpenID only to verify ownership of a Steam account. We never ask for your Steam password, cookies, or Steam Guard codes, and Steam is never used as a way to log in to SkinSpectrum.
- Content you create — inventories you save, their names, palettes, selected skins, and their visibility setting (private, unlisted, or public), plus favorites and follows.
- Technical data — a session cookie to keep you signed in, and basic server logs (such as IP address and request metadata) used for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
How we use your data
- To create and maintain your account and keep you signed in.
- To save, publish, and share the inventories you build.
- To display public inventories and profiles at stable, shareable URLs.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and rate-limit sensitive operations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Public content
When you set an inventory to public, its name, palette, skins, creator username, and creation date become visible to anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. Setting an inventory to unlisted means it is reachable only by its link; privateinventories are visible only to you. You can change an inventory's visibility or delete it at any time from your account.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service, including hosting and database infrastructure, and the sign-in providers you choose to use (Discord, and Steam for account connection). Skin catalogue data is imported from public community sources. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their part of the Service.
Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data and your private inventories. Some records may be retained where required for security or legal reasons.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You can update your profile, change your username and avatar, disconnect Steam, and delete your account from your account settings. For any other request, contact us at the address below.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
